Candiland is a 5-piece indie rock / dream pop band based in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Drawing from the dreamy textures of My Bloody Valentine and Cocteau Twins alongside the songwriting of Wednesday and Big Thief, their sound blends shoegaze, alternative rock, and indie folk into something immersive and emotionally direct.
It’s Snakes is a four-piece combo of Carolinas musical veterans, doing their eclectic homage to rock, punk, hillbilly and disco since 2015. Formed around the songwriting core of long time collaborators Aaron Pitkin and Hope Nicholls (Fetchin Bones, Sugarsmack), It’s Snakes lassoed in Darrin Gray, bassist extraordinaire and fellow member of the oughts Charlotte band Snagglepuss, plus Aqua-Lads guitarist Greg Walsh. Together they have dropped 5 L.P.s and played lots of shows, most especially wild ones supporting Southern Culture on The Skids, Gang of Four and The Growlers.
Nicholls and Pitkin were inducted into the N.C. Music Hall of Fame in 2023. The most recent album, Record Record, was produced by local musician and wiz Stephen Warwick. Previous It’s Snakes albums were produced by legendary music and producer Don Dixon.
SKEW is a new post-punk band in the Triangle. Featuring members of Trash Signal, Pastel Panties, Gio Mesto, and Em Gee. This is their first show.
