Johnny Falloon

Johnny Falloon consists of John Edmondson (Vocals, lyrics), Joseph Clementi (drums), Matthew Greer (bass, production), Toni Hunlen (sampling/synthesizer), Scott Kelley (Saxophone).  Edmondson, Clementi and Greer first convened in late 2022 to perform several impromptu and off-the-cuff performances. The then trio continued in this fashion, creating and destroying their sound and performance expectations constantly, a process leaving only the group’s bones behind. The surviving skeleton, which now includes saxophone and a sampler, finds its strength between enigmatic and varied vocal delivery, inspired, frantic, and enduring percussion, inventive and unconventional bass lines, and beautiful, contorted saxophone licks, all being tied together by the ambient punishment of Toni’s sampler/synthesizer setup.

For their second album, the Johnny Falloon project returns with Esoterrorism, a record infused with personal experience, fear, magic, and sweat. Singer and lyricist, John Edmonson, describes the record as  “hovering in a space between beauty, pain, meat, and the body’s relation to a growing digital world”. Recorded over four days outside of Athens, GA, the group’s frenetic approach to writing and performing yields a dense and excitingly varied 25 minute break from reality. The band’s sound grounds itself in the pulse of post-punk, but stretches into a more abrasive, noisier territory.

Alcantara

Formed in 2022 by transplants from the vibrant scenes of Brooklyn, Oakland, New Haven, Raleigh, and Salt Lake City, Alcantara is a riveting ensemble showcasing the talents of Brooke Suffridge, Justin Blau, Eric Bliss, Myles Peterson, and Adrian Drummond-Cole. These seasoned musicians converged in the Triangle and found a whole more than equal to the sum of its parts.

Pulling in equal measures from punk, post-rock, and post-hardcore, Alcantara specializes in off-kilter grooves and earworm melodies. Songs flow from wistful to wrathful, reflective to rebellious, always bursting with energy.  Their live performances around the state have earned them a growing following as well as a spot on Boared to Death Records.

Dead Halos

Dark, noisy, experimental, motorik music.

Ruminating in the underworld and baring the darker art of the past, Dead Halos is the solo project of Todd Warner.
