Neon Ruins:
Neon Ruins makes indie rock with loud guitars inspired in part by a visit to the birthplace of H.P. Lovecraft. Along the way, they’ve somehow become the darlings of Knoxville, Tennessee’s Community Access Television. Their debut full-length, Gas Station Carnivals, produced in collaboration with Matt Douglas of The Mountain Goats, will be released on October 20, 2026.
Scivic Rivers
Scivic Rivers is the show name of American singer-songwriter Randy Bickford. After issuing the eponymous Scivic Rivers “debut” LP in 2023, Bickford worked with Winton-Salem producer and multi-instrumentalist John Pfiffner to create the first installment of new works: Ghosts of My Life, a 4-song EP. The second EP, Legacy Admission, is due this fall on the local Potluck Foundation label.
Megayacht
Frank Peveler, Matt Blanchard, Mitch Bennett, and Kevin Jenkins played in each others’ bands in Chapel Hill in the 90s and 00s, then went off to do other things. When they came back together as Megayacht, (named after a lyric from their song “Vanity Eyepatch”) they picked up where they left off, making melodic indie rock.
